In the spirit of Christmas…

Ξ December 24th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Advice, Aggravations |

I just want to offer a simple education to the mental midgets who make walking in and out of doors such a challenging endeavor.

WALK IN AND OUT USING THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND YOU WON’T BE CONSTANTLY FACING PEOPLE GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!!

See, it’s really a very simple and eloquent concept. If everyone goes through double doors on the right hand side, nobody has any collisions. It’s very much the same concept as driving on the damn right hand side of the road!!

Oh, yeah… MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Congrats to the Seahawks Pro Bowlers!

Christmas Quiz – I was “tagged”

Ξ December 14th, 2007 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Christmas |

Since I was “tagged” by my friend Squidly, I guess I have to answer!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Whatever the store offers to do for me. Otherwise, it’s a very poor wrapping paper job by myself.

2. Real tree or Artificial?

Artificial. I don’t want to still be pulling pine needles from my butt at Easter and having cats spread the sap joy around the house.

3. When do you put up the tree?

Whenever the wife says so. Usually based on the Advent Calendar.

4. When do you take the tree down?

After new years – or unless the cats either take it down for us or I get tired of hearing the wife yelling at the cats.

5. Do you like egg nog?

Not particularly.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?

Legos. I LOVED Legos.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?

Yes.

8. Hardest person to buy for?

Everyone. I’m a horrible gift giver. I make the guy in the Lowe’s commercial (“Will you pretend to be my wife”) look brilliant.

9. Easiest to buy for?

Myself. =)

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

Mail. Usually with the Bethlehem Christmas Holiday Postmark.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

Gum.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?

Dock-5

A Christmas Story.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

Well, it depends on how mean “recycled”. I’ve never re-gifted, but I’ve certainly sent gifts into the recycle bin.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

Christmas Cookies. Sugar in particular.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?

Colored.

17. Favorite Christmas song?

Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24) – Trans Siberian Orchestra

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

Stay at home.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers?

Yes.

20. What happened to Question #20?

No Idea… it’s not on Squidly’s site!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

Christmas Morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?

The political correctness of “Happy Holiday”

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

Seattle Seahawks. Obviously. (Had to agree with Squidly here)

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?

Turkey, Ham, Ribs, mashed potatoes, etc. Any combination there of.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?

Nothing in particular to be 100% honest. Some new clothing and perhaps a gift certificate for Barnes & Noble.

NFC WEST CHAMPIONS!

Ξ December 10th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Football, Seattle Seahawks |

For the 4th consecutive season, the Seattle Seahawks have won the NFC West Division Title. Unlike last year where they struggled down the stretch and just barely got the title, the Seahawks welcomed the Arizona Cardinals into their home and proceeded to pound them into submission. Patrick Kerney and Marcus Trufant provided the fire on defense this week and Matt Hasselbeck continued to spread the ball around to all his weapons as the Seahawks won 42-21.

There is little doubt in my mind that Hasselbeck should make the ProBowl this season. I know that the media darlings Favre and Romo are going to be #1 and #2, and I don’t necessarily have a problem with those selections. However, anyone other than Hasselbeck in the top 3 would be sham. Bobby Engram at WR should also be a pick as he is just shy of 1,000 yards receiving this season. Back to the defense, Patrick Kerney and Lofa Tatupu should be Pro Bowlers, and arguments can certainly be made for several others including Julian Peterson and Marcus Trufant.

Football – A good weekend.

Ξ December 2nd, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Football, Hokies, Seattle Seahawks |

Well it was a good weekend of football for my teams this week. In college football, the Virginia Tech Hokies defeated Boston College to win the ACC title.

Ironically, their loss to BC earlier this year in the final moments of the game could be what is costing them a shot at the National Championship.

In other news, the Seattle Seahawks hung on to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 28-24.

Lofa Tatupu

This was a struggle for the ‘Hawks as they couldn’t generate a consistent offense and particularly in the first half, they couldn’t stop Brian Westbrook. Although the Seahawks had a great goal line stand where the Eagles had the ball on the 1 with First and Goal and came away with nothing. In the second half, the defense stepped up and made some plays but this game was won primarily on the effort of Lofa Tatupu who had 12 tackles and three huge interceptions of AJ Feeley.
